MERRY LAPINE I first started loving real estate as a young child. My father bought, renovated, and sold several homes in Bergen County. He later decided to get his real estate license, and I watched as he did many transactions. We moved several times. I did manage to stay all four years in the same high school in Ramsey NJ. After graduating college, my husband Eric and I moved to Maui, Hawaii. My sisters both moved there several years earlier. We drove across the country and had the car shipped. Neither of us had ever even visited there before our move. We were young and adventurous! It was there that we had our first daughter, Gabrielle. We left when she was three to move back to the mainland for more career opportunities. We ended up returning to NJ. Soon after we had our second daughter Hailey. We bought a “fixer upper” in Ringwood. We have been enjoying working on the house one room at a time. We are currently in the midst of our kitchen renovation. I am eager for this to be completed because I really love to cook! Working on Orly’s team at Coldwell Banker is very rewarding. I am able to focus on the buyers and matching them with the home that fits their needs best. I love getting to know my clients. By the end of each transaction, I feel that I have made some new friends. When I’m not our selling homes I enjoy traveling and planning fun activities for my family. I also love entertaining, movies, and attending Broadway shows.

Buyers Remorse >What Can Go Wrong
Real estate transactions are very complex, and difficulties can arise. One common form of interference can come in the innocent guise of helpful advice from family and friends.
When you buy your first home, you want the best advice you can get. You want to show the house to friends and relatives before you commit. They will probably tell you about all of the things that went wrong during their own transactions so you can avoid the same mistakes. These people all have good intentions, but too much advice can put you into a state of high anxiety.
If you are buying your home with the help of a professional real estate agent, your agent will know how to make sure that any minor upsets do not turn into major problems. A real estate agent's expertise is based on formal training and experience in many real estate transactions. Their reputation is on the line with each sale, so they are highly motivated to make your purchase or sale go as smoothly as possible. When you are dealing with a professional real estate agent, you can worry about what might go wrong if you wish, but you don't have to!
